Adapted Physical Education

The Adapted Physical Education Program is designed with instructional activities that meet the unique needs of any individual student who cannot achieve success in a regular physical education setting.  The adaptive students will increase their fitness levels, self-esteem and will gain a better understanding of what a more active lifestyle is.  Our adaptive students will also interact will other students that are involved with our mentoring program.  

Our peer-mentoring program is designed to help all of the students at Vernon Middle School.  Each student is paired with one or more peer-mentors.  These peer-mentors are their role models and are able to communicate acceptance of individual differences to the entire student body .  After participating in this program the peer-mentors are required to write a paper on their experiences in the class.  Some quotes from their papers are listed below.
