Team Handball
Team Handball is a combination of soccer, basketball and ice hockey. The objective of the game is to score by throwing the ball into the goal. Shots towards the goal must be taken from outside of the goal circle. A player can move the ball by dribbling it, as in basketball, or by passing it. A player may not take more than three steps while holding the ball, but players can stop, bounce the ball with one hand and take another three steps. Only the goalie is allowed to use their legs to protect the goal. This is the opposite of soccer, where all other players have to kick the ball and only the goalkeeper is allowed to handle and throw it. During play, players are allowed to use hands and arms to win the possession. Players obstruct an opponent with the body whether they have the ball or not. Players are not allowed to grab the ball with one or both hands or strike it from an opponent’s hands. Click here for a download of the diagram.
