Emergency Notification Mailing List
In the 2004-05 school year our district surveyed
parents about emergency notifications via e-mail and text messaging.
The district considered this input and has decided to provide an e-mail
notification list. This list will ONLY BE USED to notify
subscribers of early releases or closing information. The list
will be private and will not be used for any advertising of any type.
The district deployed a new e-mail system in the
summer of 2006. The procedure has changed for subscribing and
unsubscribing to the mailing list. If you would
like to subscribe to the list, click the Subscriptions button and type
Subscribe notification in the body of your e-mail (you must type
the two bold words in exactly as they appear here).
If you would like to unsubscribe from the list, click the
Subscriptions button and type Unsubscribe notification in the body of
your e-mail (you must type the two bold words in exactly as they appear
here). In both cases you will receive an
e-mail informing you that you have successfully subscribed/unsubscribed
to the list. PLEASE NOTE: if you are using a
web-based e-mail product, you may need to type in the subscription
address manually instead of using the button. The address is
mailman@marion.k12.ia.us.
Also, if you are attempting to enter an e-mail address for text
messaging to your phone, make sure your cellular provider knows that the
marion.k12.ia.us domain is allowed to send to your phone. You will
need to contact your cellular carrier for more information about text
messaging and e-mails sent from our server.
There are text messaging options offered by local broadcast stations
like KCRG-TV. This option may work for you as well. If you have any questions about
